SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Sunrise police need the public’s help to find a hit-and-run driver who critically injured a woman on a bicycle.

Michelle Holguin was biking home from her job at Lester’s Diner in Sunrise when a driver hit her from behind and didn’t stop

It happened late Friday night in front of the Chick-fil-a restaurant at 12600 W Sunrise Blvd.

Police said Holguin was dressed all in black and going eastbound on her white mountain bike when the driver hit her and left her lying in the road.

“She was dragged 100 feet,” said Elisa Bruner, a friend of the victim who spent Monday passing out flyers that ask for help to find the driver.

Bruner describes Holguin as “a good person who would give someone in need the shirt off her back.”

Police are trying to find surveillance that may show the vehicle.

“I’d like to say to the person who did this do the right thing, come forward,” said Sarah Karagiannis, the manager at Lester’s.

Lester’s has posted a Crime Stoppers poster in their front window.

Bruner is convinced someone can provide a critical clue.

If you can help investigators, please contact Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous and there is a $3,000 reward for info leading to an arrest.
