Rizzi On Missed Extra Point: “I Have Full Confidence In Franks, He’ll Be OK”

Miami Dolphins special teams coach and assistant head coach Darren Rizzi joined the Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM to discuss the team’s big win over the New York Jets, their outlook on making the playoffs and the state of the players. They also talk about special teams strategy and which players have stood out on the unit.

On Andrew Franks’ missed extra point vs. the Jets- “In this day and age, everything gets magnified. It’s the same with the kickers. A lot of times they can be fixed with small adjustments. I always say kickers are like golfers and need to fix little things here and there with their swing or kick. I have full confidence in Franks, he’ll be okay.”

On the idea of icing an opposing kicker- “I really handle icing the kicker game by game. It’s a feeling, not something that you do every time. It all depends on the weather of the game, the kicker himself, the situation of the game, ect. It all depends on the situation.”
