MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Saturday marked 10 years since Brad Timpf, a popular chiropractor and former University of Miami basketball player, was murdered as he left a North Miami Beach restaurant. His murder remains unsolved.

"He deserves justice. He was a wonderful, wonderful guy. He deserves justice," said Abbey Timpf-Rodgers.

Ten years after her brother was murdered outside the Houston's restaurant in North Miami Beach, Timpf-Rodgers wants the killer found and held accountable.

"Somebody out there knows something and we just really need that person to come forward and have a conscience to help give us that little bit of closure," said Timpf-Rodgers.

Grainy surveillance video from the restaurant captured the final moments of Brad Timpf's life both inside and outside the restaurant.

He had just walked a blind date to her car when he became the victim of an apparent attempted carjacking.

North Miami Beach Police Detective Joseph Romero told CBS4 News that they continue to try and solve this cold case and are using new technology to test evidence, but have not made any arrests.

"It's been disappointing to not get closure, to know what happened," said Conrad Timpf.

The Timpf family is still working hard to keep Brad Timpf's memory alive.

They have several college scholarships in his name at schools in Broward County. And they've taken his old basketball jerseys and favorite clothes and made them into quilts for his nieces, Timpf-Rodgers' daughters, who were born after their uncle died.

"You don't know how to explain to a 4 and a 6-year-old that some monster or some human being took him from us and they're never gonna meet him," said Timpf-Rodgers. "That's the hardest part."

Conrad Timpf said it's his mission to keep his son's memory vivid.

"He brought such happiness to us. It was so exciting to watch him play basketball for the University of Miami and as he grew up, becoming a doctor and chiropractor and a healer. We just want to keep that flame going," said Conrad Timpf.

They also want to see whoever took this generous, giving and loving man from their lives captured and forced to pay for what they did.

"This person who did this is still out there," said Timpf-Rodgers. "And it's frightening to think they might do this to somebody else's family and tear somebody else's family apart the same way."

There is a reward of $66,000 for information leading to Brad Timpf's killer.

If you have any information regarding this murder, please contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
