Trump Thanksgiving May Cause Travel Troubles

PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Security preps are underway this week ahead of President-elect Donald Trump's trip to Florida for Thanksgiving.
Trump and his family are expected at Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, in keeping with tradition for Thanksgiving but this time security has been stepped up.
"It is a big inconvenience, but it's the President of the United States and we want him to come," said Robert Domm.
His visit is expected to cause travel troubles for those flying or driving.
Flight restrictions have been put in place at Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) ahead of his arrival. Those restrictions go into effect on Tuesday, when the Trump family is expected to arrive for the Thanksgiving holiday.
When it comes to commercial flights, overall, they will run out of PBIA without a problem except for Trump's arrival and departure.
As for the roads, be aware as the Trump family comes and goes. Keep an eye out for likely road closures on Southern Boulevard, from PBIA to Mar-A-Lago as their motorcade comes through.
"It will be different, especially some of the roads here," Lillian Huffman said.
The Coast Guard is establishing security zones in the Intracoastal Waterway and offshore near Palm Beach beginning Tuesday.
"Sorry if it causes any problems with traffic, but it is great that he is here," said Clyde Huffman.
Ron Kessler, who is the author of two books on the U.S. Secret Service, says Trump's Secret Service detail at Mar-a-Lago will double overnight.
"There are at least 40-agents typically around the president. As well as other agents manning counter-sniper teams, counter-assault teams and certainly agents in boats around Mar-a-Lago. So, should be quite a show," he said.
With Trump, 60 days away from becoming the 45th President of the United States, sources told CBS12 that the Secret Service has been running extensive background checks on employees at the residence and resort. They have been working with the Palm Beach Police and Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
In the meantime, there is major speculation on who will be Trump's next picks for his administration ahead of his January 20th inauguration.
