FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - Many in South Florida were stunned to wake up Wednesday morning to find out that Donald Trump had beaten Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House.

To say that it was the talk of the town is an understatement.

At the popular Lester's Diner in Ft. Lauderdale, Tuesday's election results were hot topics of conversation.

John, who didn't want to use his last name in this report, said he supported Trump and was happy about the win but had concerns.

"I happy today for the same reason that I was happy that Brexit won but tomorrow I am going to start being a little worried about what he's actually going to do, which I was going to do no matter who won. No matter who I was supporting, I do that every election."

"I am very happy with the Trump win," said another supporter, "But I am also concerned for the country as a whole. No matter what has gone on in the campaign I think it's very important that we try to bring the country together again."

John said while some people said during the campaign that the country wasn't ready for its first female president, but he feels it was more than that.

"Based on what we've been finding out about what she did first as Secretary of State and from what we've been finding out from her illegal email server, if they wanted a woman so badly they could have picked somebody a lot better. There were better women running."

Many Trump supporters urged those who backed Clinton to get the President-elect time to do what he said he would do and unite the country.
