ORLANDO (CBSMiami) — Orlando is coming to a screeching halt as theme parks are closed and a curfew is in effect.

City officials and residents are bracing for hurricane conditions as Matthew approaches along the east coast in the overnight hours.

The region has seen heavy off-and-on downpours, including up to eight inches of rain in some parts, as well as flooding.

Conditions are expected to worsen overnight.
