Arsonist Sets Fire To Sunrise Barbershop, Damages Other Businesses

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) -- The owner of a barbershop in Sunrise is reaching out to the community for help after his business was destroyed by fire.

Alvaro Pedreros discovered his shop, Barberville, located at 2808 N. University Drive, burned down Sunday, July 3rd, around 4:00 a.m.

Sunrise Police told him someone intentionally set the place on fire.

He believes an employee that he fired two days earlier is involved.

"It was definitely somebody that wanted to do some harm to us and burn down the place," said Pedreros. "We did get some surveillance tape from the Metro PCS next door."

Surrounding businesses were damaged as a result of the flames.

An investigation is now underway. Anyone with information is urged to call police.
