WYNWOOD (CBSMiami) -- A man suspected of shooting a Swedish student during a Wynwood robbery is now facing charges for a murder that took place four days later.

Devin Lewis, 25, was arrested in the shooting death of Leonzo Diaz, killed in a robbery in front of his Liberty City home, as reported by CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.

Diaz was shot twice in the chest as he got out of his truck near the 1400 block of N.W. 58th Terrace earlier in June. Witnesses told police Lewis ordered the victim not to move and fired when Diaz turned around to face him.

He grabbed the chains around Diaz's neck and drove off in a getaway car, the arrest report said. Lewis was later identified by an eyewitness and investigators also pulled his fingerprint from Diaz's truck.

Lewis has a violent history, the Herald also reported. He was released in 2014 from a two-year prison stint for armed robbery and grand theft.

Several days after Diaz's death, police said Lewis and an accomplice ambushed Miami Ad School student Frank Hammar, 28, who was walking to his Wynwood home after having dinner with his parents.

"This one guy comes up to me with a gun drawn on me, and next to me, and is telling me to take out my stuff and put everything on the floor," Hammar said. "I pulled out my cell phone and put it on the ground and told them to take it easy."

However, the phone wasn't enough and when Hammar became hesitant to give up his wallet, containing his hard-to-obtain Swedish credit cards, he was shot twice and collapsed on the street.

Hammar survived the shooting and has since been released from the hospital.

Lewis was picked up about two weeks later and is currently behind bars awaiting trial in that incident. He faces a murder charge in the death of Diaz.
