MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A scare in the air for a Delta Airlines flight from the Big Apple to South Florida.

A bomb threat was made against Delta flight 2057 which took off from New York-Laguardia bound for Miami.

"Delta was made aware of a possible security issue on flight," said Delta spokeswoman Kate Modolo in a statement. "The flight landed normally and without incident. As a precautionary measure, a security sweep of the aircraft was conducted."

Passengers onboard the flight said the flight crew and Delta reps on the ground handled it professionally.

"It was pretty worrisome and scary I would say without getting any info until we got here," said Jorge Aguas. "The Delta representatives were very kind in helping us out and allocate everything for us."

"They didn't tell us anything, they just said that the flight, there was some type of threat mid-air and they landed, they were very professional, it was really no problem for what is was," said Andru Coren.

Not all passengers, however, were thrilled with the way the situation was handled.

"There was just no communication with Delta airlines, apparently there was a security threat to the aircraft, there was a lot of anxiety and no communication. We were taken on a bus, lots of police and police dogs, it was a very tough situation for everyone," said Neal Kusnetz.

No explosives were found on the plane and it was cleared to return to service.
