MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones was one of the best in the NFL last season.

His play has been ascending since he signed a four-year, $29.3 million extension in 2013 that included $15 million guaranteed.

But now Jones wants another pay raise following his first Pro Bowl season in 2015.

It was a career year for Jones who made 135 tackles and had five interceptions, leading the Dolphins in both categories.

He is set to make $7.25 million in 2016.

Jones skipped Miami's voluntary OTA workouts that spanned the past few weeks and now reports are emerging that he isn't expected to show up for the Dolphins upcoming minicamp.

If Jones skips this week's mandatory three-day minicamp, he will be fined around $76,000.

Should that happen, Jones and the Dolphins will have five weeks to try and come to an agreement on a new deal before training camp begins.

If the holdout continues into August, the fines will get much steeper.
