MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police were trying to process a scene as well as two different scenes that might be connected to an officer-involved shooting.

The first scene off NW 179th Street and NW 27th Avenue is where police say it all began shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.

Investigators say it is there where two police officers tried to stop a vehicle with four people inside – three females and one male.

When the vehicle did not stop, the officers fired at the vehicle, which then took off, prompting police to chase after it.

Police say the pursuit ended at an apartment complex off NW 177th Street and NW 7th Avenue. That's where police say the vehicle was abandoned.

Officers say all four people inside the vehicle were accounted for. Two of them are in custody and two others were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

"We currently have two subjects in custody and two victims that later were discovered at nearby hospitals - one being a juvenile," said Det. Marjorie Eloi with the Miami-Dade Police Dept. "We have four subjects in total."

There are still many questions as to the connection between the scenes.

Police have not released what kind of injuries the two people sustained, whether they were injured somehow during the pursuit or whether they were indeed hit by the bullets fired by the officers.

One of the people in the vehicle is a juvenile and is being treated at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, according to investigators.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting the investigation.
