SCOUTING: From the first time we watched this talented young man, it was a given that this was going to be a player who was going to make a huge difference. Mackey is a long and physical player who will hit you and is not afraid to mix it up with anyone. His ball skills are outstanding. Being as tall and as long as he is, Mackey is somebody who will not only jar the ball loose from the receiver or running back, but on passing plays, his length allows him to get to balls to pick and keep balls alive - affording the other players in the secondary to benefit as well. College coaches who started to show interest in him before they watched him live, have been blown away at how his ball skills and football instincts jump at you when you see him in person. Just another top-flight prospect that head coach Lorenzo Davis has on that quality defense.
