MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A man was rushed to the hospital after he was shot and police say it was just one of three separate afternoon shootings in the Miami-Dade area.
Investigators are now trying to determine if any of them are related.
The City of Miami Fire Rescue said the first shooting occurred Sunday, somewhere near Miami Jackson Senior High School. The victim ended up walking into the Auto Zone at 1812 N.W. 36th Street and collapsed once inside.
He was transported to Ryder Trauma Center.
Jaime Lopez, a resident who lives nearby, was on his way to the store to buy a part for his car when he noticed police had cordoned off the property as a crime scene.
He said in the 10 years he's lived in the area, he's never had any issues with crime.
Jessica Herrera, an employee from a restaurant across the street, ran out when she heard the police sirens. She, too, said she's always known it as a quiet area.
The Auto Zone was reopened after police left.
A second shooting happened downtown at 211 N.W. 12th Street. One person was hit and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
A third incident took place at 1232 N.W. 1st Place. That gunshot victim was also taken to Jackson.
