Officers Hospitalized After Crash Sends Miami Police Cruiser Into Construction Site

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami police are on the scene of an officer-involved car accident that sent two cops to the hospital.
The marked cruiser ended up inside a construction zone at NW 1st Avenue. Over to the right, a white Camera was stuck on a median.
CBS4's Carey Codd confirmed that the two cars collided. There were two officers inside the patrol vehicle and five people in the other car.
Codd was told the officer in the passenger seat of the police car was pretty badly banged up.
He and the other officer and one of the other passengers of the other car were taken to the hospital. No life threatening injuries, authorities said. The others were taking to an emergency room.
One of the things being sorted out, was that police vehicle heading to a call?
That's one of the questions investigators are trying to figure out.
