MIAMI (CBSMiami) – An arrest has been made after a woman's body was found at a Hialeah motel.

Yaimi Guevara Machado, 30, was staying at the Chesapeake Motel, located at 935 W Okeechobee Road, with her boyfriend when she accidentally got locked out of her room wearing only a bra and pair of jeans early Sunday morning.

Juliet Machado said her sister was at the motel with her boyfriend as part of a weekend getaway but her boyfriend took off.

Since her boyfriend was not there at the time, she made her way to the lobby where she encountered 26-year-old Ronald Adonis Lopezandrade.

Lopezandrade lives in an apartment behind the motel. He had gone to the lobby to buy beer and cigarettes. A police report said Lopezandrade was bothering motel employees and asking them if any prostitutes were around.

Lopezandrade reportedly gave Yaimi Guevara Machado his shirt and tried to strike up a conversation with her. When she refused all of his advances, Lopezandradge got angry, knocked her to the ground, straddled her and hit her in the face several times while he covered her mouth with his hand, according to his arrest report.

When she stopped struggling, he then reportedly removed her jeans and attempted to rape her. It was then that he noticed she wasn't moving or breathing and ran off.

When police arrived they found Machado's body in a grassy area at the southwest corner of the motel property. Officers noted she had obvious signs of trauma on her face and body.

Investigators said evidence and witness statements led them to Lopezandrade who claims to be an undocumented illegal-alien from Honduras who has been in the U.S. for less than a year. He's been charged with second-degree murder.

Juliet Machado said the man who took her sister's life was a "murderer." She also had choice words for her sister's boyfriend.

"I am angry with the boyfriend. He took off on her after they got into an argument. He abandoned her," she said. "Her boyfriend lied to her. He tricked her and took off."

Juliet Machado told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that her sister was a nurse who was a "very caring."

"My sister was a beautiful person. She was very smart and very prepared and we had great expectations for her as a nurse. A lot of friends loved her," she said.
