Lauren's List: Where to have fun for FREE in South Florida

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Mondays are a great time to plan the week ahead, and what better way than to write a list!

We're kicking off a new segment on CBS 4 called "Lauren's List".

Each week, morning news anchor Lauren Pastrana will share a list of four items, topics or tips that will hopefully make your life easier, or at least, more informed.

Lauren's first list is all about free fun in South Florida. There's no need to break the bank to have a good time.

Did you know, every second Saturday of the month, you can enjoy free admission to the Perez Art Museum Miami?

It's a nice break from the usual $16 it costs for an adult, non-member ticket.

The next free day is May 14th. For more information visit www.PAMM.org.

If you prefer nature's art, keep an eye on the sky at the Fox Astronomical Observatory in Markham Park on Saturday nights.

Use of the observatory is free to the public from sunset until midnight.

Be sure to arrive after dark so you don't have to pay admission to the park and check the weather ahead of time!

The non-profit South Florida Amateur Astronomers Association (SFAAA) operates the Observatory under agreement with the Broward County Board of County Commissioners and an operating permit with Broward County Parks and Recreation. Check out more here.

Fitness is fun, too!

Forget the studio membership and enjoy free yoga classes every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at Bayfront Park.

You must be 18 or older and bring your own mat.

If you're looking for something to do with the entire family, check out "Funtastic Fridays" at a in Hollywood. There's a free bounce house and face painters from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., then a family-friendly movie after that.

This week they're showing "Soul Surfer" on April 15th.

Take snacks to make it a truly free night!

Do you know of other free fun activities available in South Florida? If so, share them with Lauren on Twitter at @LaurenPastrana.
