Day Two Of Ultra Music Festival Goes Off Without A Hitch

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Day two of the Ultra Music Festival wrapped up Saturday night without major incidents or problems.

Just great Miami weather, non-stop booming music and thousands of electronic dance music lovers  not missing a beat.

Many carried flags from all over the world, 165,000 people from the U.S. and 87 countries coming to Miami just for the festival.

"I think most of the people in Mexico look for Hardwell or Like Mike," said Enrique Gutierrez from Mexico City.   When asked if EDM is huge in Mexico, Gutierrez told CBS4 Reporter Donna Rapado, "yeah, it's hot in Mexico.  It's really hot in Mexico, yeah."

"Amazing.  Nothing compared to it back home," Kieron Fleming of Scotland told Rapado.   "Better than all the festivals back home.  Better DJ's.  Better weather."

Even serious medical issues can't keep the hardcore EDM'ers away.

Sara Robinson of Virginia just had back surgery recently and was even wearing a therapeutic corset for support.  Yet, Robinson was dancing like no one was watching.

"It doesn't stop me.  It's gonna be a lot of craziness but it's gonna be a good vibe," a smiling Robinson said.

One more day of ultra means traffic delays and detours in and around downtown Miami Sunday.

Biscayne Boulevard is shut down southbound at NE 4th street and northbound traffic is cut to two lanes along the festival waterfront.

And just a couple of miles over the causeway, spring breakers and more music events at venues all over South Beach will be taking place for the winter music conference.   More traffic, more police.

Ocean Drive from 7th to 11th streets is closed to vehicles from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through Monday morning.

The beach is off limits, meaning no one on the sand after sundown.

And no alcohol on the beach either, with police checkpoints screening for contraband.
