MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Whether she's working a red carpet, as she did recently on South Beach at the premiere of her new film, playing mom to her three kids, or gracing the cover of Vanity Fair -- where she talked about her divorce from actor Ben Affleck -- Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner has never looked better or been busier.

"The first thing I wanted to ask you is what's in your wallet," joked CBS4's Lisa Petrillo, referring to Garner's credit card commercial.

"You know what's in my wallet! I'm a proud member of The Venture Club," laughed Garner.

But Garner isn't in South Florida to talk credit cards. She's here to talk about her new inspiring movie, Miracles from Heaven.

Garner plays Cristy Beam, the real life mother of a young girl named Annabelle, who suddenly becomes deathly ill. At first, the doctors say it's nothing but Cristy knows it's something bad.

"I think Cristy Beam is an inspiration for all moms to advocate for their children and get the best possible care. You just have to trust your instincts and Cristy did that," Garner said.

Suddenly, everything changes for Anna -- played by young actress Kylie Rogers -- when she falls from a tree and lands on her head. A big miracle happens -- Anna is healed.

"Do you believe in these little miracles," Petrillo asked.

"I believe all the time in little miracles. I take them in. I appreciate them in my life. I feel full of gratitude all the time. This is a big miracle," Garner explained. "I think it's so exciting to recognize it because we need to remember we don't know everything. Even with the beauty of science and what it produces, we don't know everything and some things are beyond our control."

And what's not lost on Jennifer is being in a movie based on a real family who overcame everything and stayed together.

"One of the things I love about this movie is that family is so strong. It's a love story about a family. It's a love story about a mother and daughter. It's not always pretty, her faith is tested and they get to the other side because of each other. Not in spite of each other and I think that's a great story to put out right now," Garner said.

Miracles from Heaven is rated PG and is now playing.
