Florida's 60-day Legislative Session Coming To A Close

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — The last day of the 60-day legislative session is in full swing.
The most important thing left for the Legislature to do Friday is approve the state's budget.
The House and Senate are expected to approve an $82.3 billion spending plan by late afternoon. The package doesn't include some of Gov. Rick Scott's priorities, including a $250 million fund to lure businesses to Florida and major tax cuts for businesses.
The session is ending without the drama that marked last year's lawmaking process, when budget discussions broke down and the House quit three days early.
Lawmakers have passed nearly 250 bills heading into the final day, including legislation to create new water policies, place restrictions on abortion clinics, overhaul the death penalty and repeal a ban on unmarried men and women living together.
