DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Florida Ethics officials are accusing Deerfield Beach's mayor of misusing her position.

The Florida Commission on Ethics issued an order Wednesday saying they believe Deerfield Beach Mayor Jean Robb corruptly misused her elected position, accepted a prohibited gift, and received unauthorized compensation.

The mayor is accused of accepting $1,000 in donations to two charities of her choice from the owner of a luxury automobile dealership in the city. She then reportedly tried to obstruct the City's code enforcement efforts regarding that dealership.

Investigators said she used her position to get benefits for her church and pastor. She allegedly told her staff to issue an employee parking sticker to the pastor and to use city personnel and equipment to clean the church's parking lot.

A public hearing will be held to find out whether Mayor Robb misused her position.

Mayor Robb has the option to call for an informal hearing before the commission, request a formal hearing before an administrative law judge; or resolve the matter through a stipulation, settlement, or consent order.
