MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami's Jim Larranaga edged Buzz Williams of Virginia Tech for ACC Coach of the Year honors as the league announced its postseason awards Sunday.

Larranaga was awarded the honor for the second time in four seasons after guiding the 7th-ranked Hurricanes to a 24-6 record and a perfect 9-0 conference record on the team's home court.

They beat several top-ranked ACC teams, including back-to-back wins over #3 Virginia and #11 Louisville, as well as a victory over #20 Duke.

The Hurricanes' Sheldon McClellan, Angel Rodriguez and Tonye Jekiri all earned ACC postseason honors, as well, as voted on by Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.

Third-seeded Miami opens play at the ACC Tournament on March 10th in the quarterfinal round against either #6 Virginia Tech, #11 Florida State or #14 Boston College.
