New Harry Potter Book On The Way

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Fans of a certain boy wizard are rejoicing, the author who brought him to life has another story to tell.

The upcoming stage production of "Harry Potter & the Cursed Child Parts I & II" will be published as a script book on July 31st, according to pottermore.com.

J.K. Rowling wrote the story with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany; Thorne wrote the script. According to a press release for the production, it picks up 19 years after the events of the final Harry Potter book.

In the story, Potter and his youngest son, Albus, come to terms with the family's legacy.

"As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: Sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places," according to the press release.

The "Cursed Child" book, which will cost $29.99 for hardcover and $14.99 for an e-book, is being released one day after the show makes it premiere at London's Palace Theatre.

While Rowling has published some short stories on Pottermore over the last couple of years, this is the first major Potter story since "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was released in 2007.

This is not the only return to the magical world for Rowling to be released this year. Rowling wrote the script for her Potter spinoff "Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them" which hits theaters November 18th.
