MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami police are looking for a young woman who left her Brickell office Monday afternoon without a trace.

Karen Wright's parents are beside themselves.

The 21 year old left her job Monday at 4 p.m. and her parents told CBS4 she left her car, her purse and her wallet behind.

"We're concerned that she's alone on the street, maybe a little disoriented," explained her worried stepfather, Rene Diaz. "She hasn't contacted anybody, she's not talking to any friends, she didn't tell anyone she was thinking of just walking away from my job and not calling in after never missing a day of work."

Wright's parents told CBS4 Reporter Donna Rapado a security guard at an office building in Aventura near NE 29th Ave. and 191st St. found her work badge Tuesday morning.

They said he reported seeing her sleeping in the cold outside the office building and ordered her to leave.

"For her to sleep on the street and then cut all ties," said Mr. Diaz, "it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize there's something not right.  I don't think that's a decision anyone who's hopefully in their right mind would consciously wanna make."

Wright is supposed to graduate from FIU in May with a major in Marketing. Her parents said she was working two jobs to get her own apartment. But, Wright had been acting strange lately, increasingly isolated herself.  And with each passing hour her parents worry more and more.

"You see it all the time," Wright's mother, Greny Diaz, said fighting back tears. "You would never think… you usually have the perfect kids, everything is perfect at home and then this happens and your world crumbles."

If you have any information on her whereabouts, contact the Miami Police Department at (305) 603-6310 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477.
