Broncos' Brandon Marshall Questionable For Super Bowl 50

By Mark Schiff

Injuries to star players like quarterback Peyton Manning and outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware have been a significant part of the narrative for the 2015 Denver Broncos team. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like injuries will be a storyline heading into the Super Bowl.

The Broncos released their final injury report ahead of Super Bowl 50 on Friday, and the news was mostly good. Only one player, inside linebacker Brandon Marshall (ankle), is listed as questionable for the big game. But after fully participating in all three of the team’s practices this week, it’s unlikely that Marshall will miss the Super Bowl.

“I’m excited. I’m ready to get this thing going,” Marshall told the media on Thursday. “I know all my teammates are. We’ve been studying long enough, a lot of preparation. It’ll be well worth it on Sunday.”

Guard Louis Vasquez (knee) and safeties T.J. Ward (ankle) and Darian Stewart (knee) were all limited in Wednesday’s practice session, the team’s first of Super Bowl week. But all three players were full participants in practice on Thursday and Friday and they’re all officially listed as probable for the Super Bowl.

In fact, all 53 players on the team’s active roster were full participants on Thursday and Friday. It capped what head coach Gary Kubiak referred to as a “good two weeks” of preparations for the Panthers.

“You see they’re ready,” Kubiak said Friday of Denver’s players. “They may be a little mentally tired—just a little bit. They need to go rest for a couple of days and get ready to cut it loose Sunday.”

According to Peter King, Denver’s pool reporter during Super Bowl week, Peyton Manning only threw one incomplete pass against the Broncos scout team defense on Friday, capping a strong week of practice for the veteran quarterback.

As for the Panthers, All-Pro linebacker Thomas Davis is expected to be cleared to play in the Super Bowl, a remarkable recovery for a player who broke his right forearm against the Cardinals in the NFC Championship game. Davis, defensive end Jared Allen (foot) and fullback Mike Tolbert (knee) are the only players listed on Carolina's injury report and all three are probable for the Super Bowl.

So, unlike Denver’s Super Bowl trip two years ago when star players like Chris Harris Jr. and Von Miller were forced to sit out of the big game with injuries, it looks like both teams will have their full compliment of players for Super Bowl 50.

Check out the Broncos full injury report below. Super Bowl 50 kicks off from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. MST.
