FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Employees were left with a messy cleanup after a man crashed through a convenience store in Ft. Lauderdale.
Surveillance cameras were rolling the moment the SUV drove over a parking space bumper at an Exxon Gas Station at 1300 N.E. 4th Avenue, then got up and onto the sidewalk, before going straight into the store.
An employee at a mechanic shop across the street saw it happen.
"I seen a car go full acceleration straight into the glass," said Luis Velez. "The guy put it in reverse, backed up and parked the car and left it there."
Velez said the driver seemed disoriented.
"He was an older, skinny guy. Looked like he was, ya know, over his age to be driving," he said.
Several people were inside the store. Cameras show one man walking the aisle just moments before the crash.
Police are investigating and have not yet released details on what may have caused the crash or if anyone was hurt.
