Two Killed After Car Plunges Into Lauderhill Canal

LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) -- Of the four people inside a car that went into a canal Sunday night, two have not survived.

It happened about 8 p.m. near N.W. 44th Street and Inverrary Blvd.

One person was able to get out of the car on his own, according to Lauderhill Fire Rescue.

Three victims had to be pulled from the water by divers. They were listed in critical condition when they arrived to the hospital, but officials said two of them later died.

Everyone in the car was between the ages of 15 and 24.

The intersection was closed to traffic Sunday night.
