LIBERTY CITY (CBSMiami) -- He has an impressive resume from Olympian to four-time heavyweight boxing champion of the world... and now Santa Claus.

On Thursday, Evander Holyfield joined with Heavyweight Factory Gym in Hollywood to host a massive toy giveaway on Christmas Eve at Charles R. Drew Middle School in Liberty City.

The owner of the gym bought hundreds of toys, from footballs to bicycles, dolls and roller skates, to give back to the community.

"He said, look I'm from the hood just like you're from the hood. And he said how about this, let's do something here to show the people here that we appreciate them, so I'm happy to be a part of things that really work," said Holyfield.

As they emptied out a tractor trailer full of the holiday gifts, the boxing legend was confident he knew which toys would go first.

"The bikes. Everybody likes to ride. As you can see, even the little kids."

The guys are working with the Model City Police Net, which is a collaboration between the Miami Police Department and neighborhood teams working together to reduce crime and improving the quality of life in each community.

This Christmas, the kids aren't looking back. They're looking forward to a great holiday.
