Preview The 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors

WASHINGTON D.C. (CBS) - The 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honorees include "Star Wars" filmmaker George Lucas, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Carole King, actress and singer Rita Moreno, conductor Seiji Ozawa and actress and Broadway star Cicely Tyson.

The ceremony took place on Sunday, December 6th hosted by Stephen Colbert and featured a star-studded line-up of Hollywood talent paying tributes to the honorees.

"Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez honored Rita Moreno, her onscreen grandmother, who was the first Latin woman to win an Academy Award.

Legendary conductor Seiji Ozawa's tributes included violinist Itzhak Perlman and soprano Renee Fleming and past honoree Yo-Yo Ma.

Carrie Fisher appeared via hologram to thank George Lucas for giving her "one of the biggest roles and really the most famous hairstyles." While Directors Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese appeared in person to salute the filmmaker. 

For 90-year-old Cicely Tyson's there were spoken tributes by Tyler Perry, Viola Davis and Kerry Washington.

Singer-songwriter Carole King received a salute from the Broadway cast of "Beautiful" and a phenomenal performance of "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin.

The 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors airs Tuesday, December 29th at 9pm ET/PT.
