MIAMI (CBSMiami) — As part of National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day, a tribute was held Friday for Miami's 108 homeless who died over the last twelve months.

Advocates for the homeless and friends of the deceased payed their respects with a candlelight vigil at the fountain on the west side of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center in downtown Miami, as reported by CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald.

The names of each person who died were read aloud and a wreath was laid out in their honor.

The service was organized by the Homeless/Formerly Homeless Forum, Inc., The Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust and the Miami Coalition for the Homeless, Inc.
