MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins didn't just lose a game in embarrassing fashion last night 36-7 to the New England Patriots but they're now down one of their biggest impact players on defense.

All-Pro defensive end Cameron Wake, who has seven sacks in the last three games, is reportedly out for the season with a torn achilles, according to NFL.com..

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday morning that Wake tore his Achilles during the Dolphins' 36-7 loss to the New England Patriots and is out for the remainder of the season, per a source informed of the situation.

Wake had to be carted to the locker room after suffering an Achilles injury late in the third quarter and he did not return. He had two tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss before leaving the game. After the game, interim coach Dan Campbell said he didn't know the severity of the injury.

Wake was on crutches with no shoe on his left foot after the game, according to multiple reports.

Unfortunately for the 3-4 Dolphins, Wake wasn't the only player injured last night. Right tackle Ja-Wuan James left with a toe injury in the first half, as did first-round pick Devante Parker (foot).
