Detectives Pass Out Sketch Of Man Accused Of Raping Teen

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office Special Victims unit passed out flyers Thursday in the neighborhood where a teenager was raped.
The 16-year-old girl was walking to her high school Monday morning when BSO said she was grabbed and dragged to a grassy area along the 2800 block of N.W. 14th Street.
The teen told investigators the bedraggled man grabbed her by the head, then covered her eyes and mouth with his hands.
As she struggled to break free, the man forcibly dragged her away from the street to a nearby grassy area where he sexually assaulted her.
"This is traumatic for this girl. She fought back but could not get away," said BSO Spokeswoman Gina Carter.
But the girl got a good look at her attacker and was able to work with a sketch artist. He's described as being in his 30's with young facial features and slanted eyes. The teen said he had a dirty mustache and described his dark beard and hair as having light-brown tips.
The thought of a rapist roaming the neighborhood scares residents like Connie Grier.
"It's crazy, I have girls. I don't know what I would do if he came for my kids like that," said Grier.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
