King on Interim Coaches: 'Sometimes It Really Works'

Interviews-wqam

The Miami Dolphins received a jolt of life after squashing the Tennessee Titans on the road last Sunday.

Arguably the most prominent NFL Insider in the business thinks the Dolphins are vastly improved since replacing Joe Philbin with Dan Campbell during the bye week.

"This team, Joe, was too good to be 1-3, looking pathetic," The MMQB's Peter King said on the Joe Rose Show. "The talent was too good, on both sides of the ball, particularly on defense. Something had to be done and I'm not ever, hardly ever a big fan of interim coaches but I think sometimes it really works. I think it worked with Tony Sparano in Oakland. Even though their record wasn't that good, they just played significantly better and I think this team is gonna play significantly better and you saw it on Sunday."

Up next, the Dolphins face the Texans at Sun Life Stadium.
