Woman Stabs Attacker In Miami Home Invasion

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – City of Miami Police are investigating a home invasion in which the homeowner fought back and stabbed her attacker with the kitchen knife she was using to cook dinner with.

According to detectives, the incident happened shortly before 6:00 p.m. at a home off NW 15th Street and 31st Avenue in Flagami.

The man entered the home through the front door, which the victim left open because she was cooking and wanted to ventilate the place.

It's unknown if the man was armed but he demanded money, which the victim gave to him.

According to police, the man demanded other articles and kicked the woman's dog, then began struggling with her.

The victim grabbed the knife she'd been cooking with and stabbed the robber. The thief fled the scene.

In the struggle, the victim lost consciousness for about an hour.  When she came to, that's when she called 911.

The woman was treated and released at the scene.  Police said her injuries were minor.
