BROWARD (CBSMiami) – In a plea Friday, Richard Jones  made it clear his brother Kenneth Jones was a real person. Not a statistic. Not a current event. And now he's gone, and BSO needs help to find the driver who killed him.

Kenneth Jones' family says he was a die-hard Dolphins fan, a rock-and-roll lover and an outdoorsman.

At the age of 53 his life was cut short. The driver of a BMW hit him while he crossed Hillsborough Boulevard near Northwest 2nd Terrace last Saturday morning around 1:30.

"(Kenneth) was well loved, he was my brother, he was my best friend. And I miss him desperately and anything, if anybody out there in the public, please please help us find this perpetrator, help us find this vehicle, help the detectives," said his brother Richard.

Surveillance video shows the BMW moments before the hit-and-run crash.

They are looking for a light-colored 2005-2010 BMW 3-Series, likely with damage to the lower front driver's side.

Call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS if you have information on this case.
