Nick Jonas Hits Success With Solo Career

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The youngest of the Jonas Brothers is having quite the career in entertainment.
From movies and television shows to concert tours and more, Nick Jonas is proving flying solo is going just fine.
Sunday night before his show at the Filmore Miami Beach, CBS4's Lisa Petrillo sat down with the 23-year old singer who spoke about his music and acting career.
"It's been great, I'm so grateful to the fans who have stuck with me and all new fans, new people, I see at shows," said Jonas. "They're showing up because of the music and that means world to me."
After gaining popularity on the Disney Channel, the three brothers who call themselves the Jonas Brothers became a pop sensation 2007. They've sold more than in 20 million albums.
In 2013, the brothers decided they needed a break, so they split up to pursue their individual career paths.
Nick hit success quickly.
"My brothers and I had a great journey together, it lasted for long time, eight to nine years, and when it came to a close there was fear. Am I going to be accepted? But to see "Jealous," "Chains" and "Levels," and others, has been incredible."
The video for his hit single "Chains" has a Miami connections.
"I have an amazing friend who owns a gallery within the Wynwood Walk and I shot a music video there, it was so much fun," said Jonas. "When I get here I try to get back."
In addition to his busy music career, Jonas is also an actor appearing episodes of the new show "Scream Queens," "Hawaii Five-0," and "Kingdom." Jonas is also the ambassador for Think It Up, a new movement created to inspire students to pursue their passions through student-powered, teacher-led learning projects with support from Staples for Students.
"I'm very aware of the fact I have a lot of young fans, a lot of kids still in school, they range from all ages of the education spectrum. I'm inspired by it and I believe in it and hopefully these young kids do as well. Hopefully I can help, it's a beautiful thing."
The talented pop star, who remains very close with his brothers, is confident about his future because he's using lessons he's learned from the past.
"I've learned a lot, I've watched a lot. I've seen people come and go, already in this business now I'm 10 years doing it and I'm still here and I think that's about being honest and truthful and good to people, trying to do that as much as possible," said Jonas.
Next up for Jonas is a new movie produced by James Franco called "Goat", expected out in 2016. A world tour is also in the plans as well.
