Marvez on Mathis: 'The Dolphins Slow-Playing it is Smart'

Should the Miami Dolphins make a big swing at Evan Mathis before the preseason starts next weekend?

"Well I think you just keep letting this play out," Fox Sports' Alex Marvez said on the Joe Rose Show Friday. "I mean why not? Evan Mathis isn't going anywhere right now. No one has met his contract number. So there's no harm no foul here for me from a Dolphins standpoint.

"Let's see what these guys can get done. Let's see what can happen with these guys in a preseason game or two... I think the Dolphins slow-playing it is smart. I mean why overpay when you may not need to?"
