Firms Top $250k Lobbying Legislature

MIAMI (CBSMiami/NSF) -- Two lobbying firms reported earning at least $250,000 while lobbying the Legislature from April 1st to June 30th, according to a state website.

Their clients include an expressway authority and the movie industry.

Gomez Barker Associates and PooleMcKinley each reported collecting between $250,000 and $499,999 in fees.

Lobbying firms are required by Aug. 14th to file reports that broadly show how much they were compensated during the year's second quarter, which included part of the regular legislative session and a June special session.

Firms, which have gradually submitted reports over the past month, typically are required to report compensation in ranges.

Gomez Barker Associates, for example, reported earning $30,000 to $39,999 during the quarter for its legislative lobbying on behalf of the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority. Similarly, PooleMcKinley reported earning $20,000 to $29,999 for representing the Motion Picture Association of America.
