Report: Marlins-Dodgers Trade Now On Hold

560-WQAM

The Miami Marlins continue to be sellers, agreeing to trade pitcher Mat Latos and first baseman Michael Morse -- two players acquired last offseason -- to the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, according to the Miami Herald.

They will receive three minor-league players and will throw in their "2016 Competitive Balance draft pick" in a deal described as a "salary dump."

Latos is 4-7 with an ERA of 4.48 this season while Morse is hitting just .214 in 159 attempts.

The move comes less than a week after the Marlins traded Steve Cishek to the Cardinals as the fish sit 11 games back in the NL East.

UPDATE 7:42pm:

According to a report from CBSSports.com, the trade between the Marlins and Dodgers has been put on hold.

Both Latos and Morse are in uniform for the Marlins for their Wednesday night game against the Washington Nationals.

The report states that Miami was set to receive three minor league players in the deal and that the two sides agreed on the trade earlier in the day, but it is unknown what is causing the holdup.

UPDATE 8:15pm:

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the deal is still likely to get done.
