MIAMI (CBSMiami) – South Floridians may be sweltering under the hot summer sun, but there's good news for families who want to save some money on back to school shopping.

Florida's "tax-free holiday" for school supplies, clothing and some electronic equipment begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 7th and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 16th.

During the 10-day sales tax-free holiday, shoppers don't have to pay sales tax on any clothes, shoes and certain accessories worth $100 or less, school supplies worth $15 or less or on the first $750 of a personal computer, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
