MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A South Florida mother is angry over her son's bruise and broken face, she says happened at the hands of Miami Police officers.

"kicked him, beat him and punch him, seven police officers, they took turns. They celebrated like it was a party," said mother Alexandra Yehia. "This is something that I never expected. For police to act this way."

Home surveillance cameras captured part of the incident last week.

Yehia says it started when her son Brian White was a passenger in a car with a driver who had a suspended license.

She says when police tried to stop him, he took off.

Once they pulled them over she says her son was dragged from the passenger seat and pummeled without provocation.

"I did everything that they told me to do. I put my hands up. They took me out of the car and they hit me. I never resisted. I never hit a police officer or pushed them. I did nothing," said White.

According to a Miami Police report, officers say White resisted, refused to place his hands behind his back and was kicking his legs attempting to strike the officer.

"If he did something bad. They would have taken him out of the car and put him with the handcuffs and question him before they abuse him," said Yehia.

White's family is asking the State Attorney to investigate the incident.

"He is not a criminal and even if he was a criminal, they have no right. They have no right to touch any human being and brutalize them.

Miami Police Major Delrish Moss issued a statement on the issue saying, "In this moment, we have not received any complaints of this type. We have not had the appropriate time to investigate if this was an incident that occurred in the city of Miami police's jurisdiction or if it based on acts of the Miami Police Department. Based on my initial revision, there does not appear to exist a complaint of this type that has been reported to our internal affairs department, who would be in charge of investigating a case of this magnitude."
