'Voodoo Priest' Accused Of Having Sex With Child

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) -- A South Florida 'Voodoo priest' is accused of having sex with a middle school aged girl and police are searching for more possible victims.

Sunrise Police said girl's mother took her to 48-year old Brogenet Cinor's home at 2893 NW 73rd Avenue sometime between 2009 and 2010. Brogenet had told the mother of the 11-year old girl that she had bad spirits in her and she needed to be cleansed.

While the mother stayed in front of the home, Cinor took the girl to a shed-like structure in the backyard, told her to undress then had sex with her. Cinor reportedly restrained the girl's arms and wouldn't allow her to get up. When he was done, he gave her money, police said.

"He was using the victims belief in voodoo and curses and the fact that they believe that they could die if they did not follow his instructions," said Sunrise police spokeswoman Cindi McCue.

A few weeks after the incident occurred, the girl told her mother what had happened. When she contacted Cinor, he denied the allegations and told her if she mentioned them to anyone else she would die, police said.

The girl went to the police in 2014 which prompted their investigation into Cinor.

"They would chant, they were like chanting, like whatever chants they did and I would hear popping, you know like those little white things you throw on the ground and they go 'pop', it sounded like that," said Garfield Spence, one of Cinor's neighbors.

Spence said he would hear the chanting weekly coming from Cinor's backyard.

"It was always grown people who went back there. People would come and go, I don't know, he was running some kind of business, but it was people who would always be coming and going. If they were underage, they would be with someone," said Spence.

When CBS4's Joan Murray and a photographer went to the home, someone threw a rock at them from the fenced in backyard and no one answered the door.

Spence said the allegations against Cinor has rocked the neighborhood.

"It's disturbing, I'm very surprised. I have lived here for three years and talk to the man all the time," said Spence.

During the investigation, police also contacted two adult sisters, in their late 20s and early 30s, who had gone to Cinor for spiritual healing between 2008 and 2009.

Both sisters said Cinor had sex with them on various occasions. Both got pregnant and Cinor reportedly paid to have their pregnancies terminated.

He allegedly told them they would die if they told anyone about their relationship.

Cinor was arrested on June 19th on a charge of sexual battery on a child. He was not charged for having sex with the sisters after investigators determined it was consensual. He has since bonded out of jail.

Police fear that there could be more victims since Cinor has been in South Florida for 30 years.

"Our fear is that there may be many other victims who have not come forward, that we would like to be able to talk with, if there are other victims," said McCue.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493- TIPS.
