Bowen: Kevin Love is 'Trade Bait'

Interviews-wqam

When Kevin Love went down in the first round against the Boston Celtics, many thought the Cavs' title hopes were finished. In stepped the defensive-minded Tristan Thompson, who has been averaging 10.2 points and 11.1 rebounds in series against the Hawks and Bulls.

ESPN's Bruce Bowen thinks Thompson's play has made Love expendable.

"You take away some of the bits and pieces and look at how hard they play like Dellavedova and Tristan Thompson, the way that they're playing, who cares about Kevin Love right now?" Bowen said on the Joe Rose Show.

"You know what Kevin Love just became? He became trade bait."

The only issue is Love has a player option for $16.7 million next season, meaning he could elect to become a free agent this summer. So although Love could be playing in another uniform next season, it would likely be on his terms not Cleveland's.
