HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – The family of a Hollywood man killed in a hit and run crash held a vigil Sunday night.

It has been nearly a month since Jason Swanson died.

"This has been the longest month of my life," said Laura Cardinale, Swanson's mother.

Swanson's family said he had gone to the hospital to visit a friend's new baby March 29th and was riding his motorcycle home.

He never made it. He was killed in a crash on South 56th Avenue near Washington Street.

Police said a woman and a child were in the vehicle that hit Swanson. After the crash, the woman allegedly got out, looked at him on the ground and drove away.

When officers arrived, they said Swanson was on fire in the middle of the street.

"We're still looking for the person who hit him and left. How anyone could just walk away and leave someone lying on the ground like this is unbelievable," said Cardinale.

Police are looking for a Ford Explorer Sport Trac, dark in color, with damage to the running boards.

In the month since his death, Swanson's family has passed out thousands of fliers urging anyone with information to call police.

"Justice is all we want," said his sister Alicia Maynard.

If you have any information, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
