MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A small manhole in northwest Miami-Dade caused some big problems for drivers this week.

Milton Reynosa's tire is in his trunk. It was damaged, he said after he ran over the open manhole on Lejeune Road Thursday night.

"All of the sudden I see something in the middle of the street and I couldn't avoid it and I went on top of it.. it blew out my tire and it broke my rim on the tire," said Reynosa.

Soon he realized he wasn't alone.

"I saw two cars in front of me with the same problem ...and then when I parked I hear another car BAM and I hear another BAM...ten cars with the same problem the same accident," said Reynosa.

By morning, he said he was surprised to see even more drivers dealing with the same issue.

"I thought they had fixed the problem but right now I'm coming off from work and I see a lot of cars with the same problem. I assume they fixed it last night but they didn't. The hole is still there," said Reynosa.

For driver Willie Johnson, it's an inconvenience and an expense.

"Me and like ten other cars this morning ran into it. It damaged the driver's side front tire, the back tire and I don't know what else....damage was done to the car and several other cars," said Johnson. "I'm three hours late to work right now. I've got to pay for tow fees, tires, rims and everything else on my car ...so I just want to know how can we fix this problem."

The Florida Department of Transportation said the man hole has been fixed but some drivers are still left to deal with the damages.
