CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) – Postal inspectors are going door-to-door Monday handing out flyers, offering a reward for anyone who can help put a stop to criminals targeting mail carriers.

"We cannot have people robbing and assaulting government workers on the streets," said Blad Rojo, a postal inspector.

The United States Postal Inspection Service is looking for two men that robbed two letter carriers at gunpoint.

The letter carriers were doing their job, Rojo said, when they were approached by a man who said "give me your keys."

Both hold-ups happened on March 13th just 20-minutes apart.

The first guy reportedly got away with a carrier's vehicle in Coral Springs. In the second incident, in a Tamarac condo complex, inspectors said the robber took a master mailbox key.

Investigators don't know if the crimes are connected.

"It's kind of scary," James Zevolo, a resident in the area said. "I'd like to see them brought to justice but who knows."

From North Miami to Pembroke Park—where an employee was badly injured after being hit over the head with a metal rod—USPS said there have been seven postal worker robberies over the past year.

Inspectors believe the robbers are all going after the same thing.

"The goal is to do a financial crime. To do credit card theft, identity theft, tax fraud with the key obviously they can have access to certain area of mailboxes that they can get into," Rojo said.

There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest(s). Anyone with information is urged to call 1-877-876-2455.
