Millar: Marlins' Objective Should Be To Win NL East

Former Marlin and current MLB Network analyst Kevin Millar joined the Big O Show on WQAM to chat about the upcoming season and if the Marlins have a chance to compete in a deep NL East.

"If they can hold their ground until they get [Hernandez] back he'll be like this big, huge trade that we talk about at the deadline in July that people are always trying to go get," Millar said. "So the Marlins -- good team. I think the Mets are going to be much better and still are in a Beast Mode with the Nationals and with that starting pitching."

As for those Nationals, everyone's favorite with that loaded pitching staff, Millar understands the talent is evident but it's far from a forgone conclusion that they'll blow through the division.

"The Nationals, listen, they look great on paper, but it's not like you're just going to give them the pennant," Millar said. "I understand that they have six starters that are awesome but a lot of things have to go right also.

"The Marlins, if I'm on that team, if I'm in that clubhouse, I guess my points is this -- we're going to try to win this division and I don't care what the media says, what the radio shows say, what we say, but that's our objective -- to go out there and win this division."

The Marlins launch their season with the Atlanta Braves on April 6th at Marlins Park.
