"It's great to have an All-Star Game here. I hope we have them every year now," said Gov. Scott. "All this adds to the culture of our city and our state."

"The All-Star game is a win, win, win for Miami-Dade County, Miami Marlins and Major League Baseball," said Mayor Gimenez.

The Marlins had hoped to get the Mid-Summer Classic right after Marlins Park opened three years ago but they had been turned down until this year.
