Oregon Sex Offender Picked Up In The Keys

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A sex offender wanted in Oregon was captured in the Upper Keys.
Stephan Brewer, 49, committed a sexual battery on a young child. When he was released from prison he failed to register as a sex offender so a warrant was then issued for his arrest.
The U.S. Marshalls Service contacted the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit because they had information that Brewer might be in the Islamorada area.
On Tuesday, at noon, he was taken into custody by detectives at a convenience store.
Brewer will be returned to Oregon to face charges.
