Marvez: Fan Outrage Doesn't Match Dolphins' Performance

By WQAM Staff

With the Miami Dolphins hovering at 7-6 and their playoff lives on the line against the Patriots this Sunday, Alex Marvez of Fox Sports thinks this is a better team than in years past and that fan "outrage" just hasn't matched the team's performance.

"There is some good, some bad, some ugly with this team," Marvez said on the Joe Rose Show this morning on WQAM. "But I don't know if the outrage matches the performance.

"Its not the same old dolphins. It's really more individuals breaking down. I don't think it's scheme that much."

Marvez singled out Dallas Thomas as one of those individuals, as the Dolphins' right tackle allowed four sacks against the Ravens last week, according to Pro Football Focus.

"I just think it's some guys overwhelmed -- I watched Dallas Thomas and this is a guard playing tackle," Marvez said. "When you watch him set, doesn't he look like a guard playing tackle? He's so robotic."

Part of the reason why Marvez thinks some fans seem to be disheartened is because Miami's play of late has contrasted so much with some dominating performances from earlier in the season.

"I think because they did so well so early and you saw flashes of a team that could be really great like when they beat the San Diego Chargers 37-0, you get disappointed by what has gone on this year and I think that's the bottom line."
