SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Alex Harris scored 26 points and Florida International made 8 of 10 free throws in the final 1:07 — including both ends of a one-and-one by Lanerryl Johnson — to hold off Florida International 64-61 in the Spartanburg Marriott Upstate Classic on Saturday.

Johnson finished with 11 points and five steals for Cal St-Fullerton (3-4).

A three-point play by Daviyon Draper capped an 8-0 run by FIU (4-3) and pulled the Golden Panthers within two, 44-42, with 12 minutes to play.

Jamar Akoh hit a 3 about 4 ½ minutes later to cap a 6-0 spurt and give Fullerton a 50-42 advantage.

After a free throw by Dennis Mavin with 1:21 left made it 56-51, Johnson made both ends of a one-and-one and Fullerton kept FIU at bay from the stripe down the stretch.

Mavin paced the Golden Panthers with 22 points and Adrian Diaz added 15 with eight rebounds.
